How do I apply Glamnetic Press-On Nails?Updated 17 minutes ago
A straightforward guide for a long-lasting, salon-level result.
1. Prep Your Natural Nails (Don’t skip this – it’s what makes them last)
Proper prep is the difference between 2-day wear and 2-week wear.
Do this:
Remove any polish or residue.
Push back cuticles to clear the nail plate.
Lightly buff the surface (this creates grip—don’t over-buff).
Cleanse nails with alcohol or acetone to remove all oils.
✨Pro tip: Use our 2-in-1 Cuticle Pusher for fast, pro-level prep. Oily nails = lifting,
so make sure they’re fully dehydrated before applying glue.
2. Choose the Correct Sizes
Lay out all press-on sizes first.
The nail should fit sidewall to sidewall without pushing into your skin.
If you’re between sizes, size down, not up.
Choosing the correct size helps ensure a comfortable fit and prevents lifting at the edges for longer-lasting wear. To find your perfect fit, we recommend checking our Nail Shapes & Measurement Guide and Nail Sizes per Style.
3. Apply the Glue (for longest wear)
Apply glue to both surfaces:
One pea-sized drop on your natural nail.
One thin layer on the back of the press-on.
If using our Brush-On Nail Glue, ensure that you spread the glue evenly, avoiding cuticles and skin.
Optional wear-time control:
Nail Glue = best for long term wear (1 - 2 weeks)
Removable Nail Tabs = best for short-term wear (3 - 5 days)
4. Apply the Nail at a 45° Angle
This prevents air pockets — the #1 cause of lifting.
Start by placing the press-on at a 45° angle against your cuticle.
Slowly press downward until the nail lies flat.
Hold firmly for 10–15 seconds.
Press the nail down as close to the cuticle edge as possible. A tight seal here keeps the nails from lifting.
5. Aftercare Matters (first hour = most important)
To lock in the longest wear:
Avoid water for at least 1 hour after application.
For the first 24 hours, avoid steam, lotions, and soaking hands.
Don’t use nails as tools (prying, opening cans, scraping).
With proper prep + care, Glamnetic press-ons can last up to 2 weeks.
6. Quick Fixes & Maintenance
Noticing lifting at the tip or sides?
Add a tiny drop of glue under the lifted edge.
Press and hold 10 seconds.
File the free edge to seal it.
This keeps your set looking fresh and extends wear.💕
